Margaret M. Holman portrait Margaret M. Holman has more than 30 years of fund-raising and fund-raising management experience in the nonprofit sector.

Prior to founding Holman Consulting, Ms. Holman served as senior vice president for development and communications at the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), America’s first and largest humane society.

She has also held senior fund-raising management positions at a variety of arts, health, and educational institutions throughout the country. Previously, she was also a senior consultant in the Northeast region for The Sharpe Group, of Memphis, Tenn.

Ms. Holman has published numerous articles on planned giving and nonprofit management, lectures widely, and has served as faculty for several institutes, conferences and seminars. She served as president of both the Philanthropic Planned Giving Group of Greater New York and Women in Development New York, and has served on the board of the Greater New York Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She is a member of the Gift Planning Subcommittee of the University of Nebraska Foundation’s Development Committee. Ms. Holman served as chairperson for the nation’s largest one-day conference on philanthropy, Fund Raising Day in New York, 1999 and 2000.

Margaret M. Holman has co-authored two books, Major Donor Fundraising, a Directory of Social Change and The Complete Guide to Careers in Fund Raising.
